Hall of Fame and Hockey - November 24, 2000

This page contains pictures from a day trip to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York, and to a college hockey game between Mercyhurst and Union at Achilles Rink in Schenectady, NY. Along for the ride were Chris and Anne Kelly, Charles Calkins, Darren Lim, and myself on November 24, 2000. The pictures were taken with my Sony Mavica FD-7 digital camera. All images are 24-bit JPEGs and should be viewed on a 24-bit display. Quality is likely to be very poor when viewed on an 8-bit display.

I have arranged the actual images on a number of smaller pages, linked from the text below. Some links are to a single image, while others link to a page containing a number of related pictures.

We started by meeting up at RPI in Troy, so we could take just one car down to Cooperstown. We met early and arrived in Cooperstown by mid-morning. We parked at Doubleday Field and went right into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, and started out looking at a display of artifacts from 1999, mostly from the World Champion New York Yankees [5 Pictures]. After seeing the movie, we walked around various exhibits [Picture] and quickly found our way to the one which motivated us to be here, the Peanuts exhibit, You're in the Hall of Fame, Charlie Brown [10 Pictures].

For lunch, we left the museum and decided on Sal's Pizzeria and Restaurant, and then looked around Cooperstown a bit [4 Pictures]. After lunch, it was back into the museum for a few more hours. We visited the World Series section, which was showing a tribute to current and past Subway Series [5 Pictures], and looked at most of the other exhibits as well [5 Pictures]. After visiting the gift shop, we headed back toward the car [2 Pictures] and were on our way to Schenectady.

After dinner at Morrette's, we parked on the Union campus and went to Achilles Rink for Mercyhurst vs. Union in a non-league NCAA Division I game. The game [30 Pictures] ended in a 2-2 overtime tie.
